The Gaskell Garden Project (GGP) is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that the GGP is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We just don’t do that sort of thing. But just in case you don’t believe us, in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. As part of the registration process as a volunteer, we collect personal information, including first & last name, e-mail address, mobile phone number & address, amongst other free-text questions. Most of this is stored securely in our e-mail archives, hosted by our website server, HostGator and GMAIL, but some of it (Name, Date of Birth, Email, Phone Number) is stored on a volunteer management database in our password-secure Google Drive. We use all that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff that’s happening at the project, to raise money, and to organise volunteers for events. Sometimes, we might need that information to get to know you better, or to contact you if all else fails. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our e-mails to you. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communication. Personal details stored on MailChimp are Name & Email Address. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
